My first post here and first time of my life that I will visit Dublin, first time of my life that I will see The Pogues. Anyone familiar with the security over there? I asume that it is allowed to bring in a small non-professional digital camera with me and can use them (w/o flash) during the show?...

Re: Instrument with a crank...

All full of tired and grumpy and phlegm. I hate December colds. Otherwise dandy. And how are you, and what is your connection with hurdy gurdies? I'm good thanks. Looking forward to meeting some of the lads after the show in Dublin next Sunday. As for hurdy gurdies? I just like the sound of the name.

And invite people to join it! It could just make the difference and instead having a moral number 1, we could make it an actual number 1.

Instrument with a crank...

A friend of mine suggested that the subject line of this thread could refer to Mr Woods.

In that case, you may like less less-incendiary Rosin The Bow. The two songs share the same air.

It has been postponed over Katy French illness. Now that Katy is brown bread, it could easily get to number one. They'll probably change the designated charity though. For any of you who don't know, Katy French was an Irish model. She died last night at the age of 24 after a short, as yet undisclos...

Eww. Fricken vultures. (And no, I have no idea who this is, why they're selling, if Shane knows, or anything else. Still looks like a bunch of vultures to me.) Last time I met Shane he gave me his (nice silver) pen and I joked that I was going to put it on eBay along with a half-eaten sandwich and ...

I don't watch Emmerdale so I did a little web searching and found this: http://www.emmerdale.org/emmerdale/Picture_Gallery/thumb_size/cain2003.JPG Marvellous! Now to find one of Bob. I wasn't aware that Fair City was shown outside of Ireland... or that anyone watched it. Hm...

The Duke of Ingmar wrote:But hey, The Pogues even changed Eric Bogle´s "...knocked me arse over head..." into "...knocked me arse over tit..." . :D

The "correct" expression would be "arse over tit" anyway. "Arse over head" is just a polite BBC-radio version.

Re: "Down In The Ground" as an xmas tune

Apparently Shane has re-written "Down In The Ground where The Dead Men Go" as a Christmas tune to be performed by a bunch of RTE reality show celebs. The story was in a well known Sunday rag, but the fact that one of the celebs was Victoria may add an element of truth... Don't believe eve...

I have decided that henceforth if you can't be bothered to write in English, I'm not going to waste my time deciphering your prose.

No one knows? I clearly hear the word Grenada/Granada but the rest is impossible. This is how it was sung live in '88 and also in the video, as I said. I know I'm about 3 years late into this thread, but the lines you're looking for are something about molesting a young girl from Grenada... Spider ...

Red wine and stinky cheese...

...why the hell does it taste so fucking good? I'm sitting here tonight having a rather bad bottle of Californian red wine with some fantastic Italian Gorgonzola - now I know there's something to do with tastebuds and complimentary flavours but I'd like a proper explanation from someone. Just becaus...
