Re: Going to the theatre

True, of course, but it is not actually performed all that often and this gives a hint of the enormous difficulties for the actor. Bless YouTube.

Re: Going to the theatre

Thanks, and yes, I am still reeling. "what? who? no! she!" Next time I'll read the text first though! Lisa Dwan described her claustrophobia when performing this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2013/may/08/beckett-not-i-lisa-dwan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PExdogyhY4E (I think this ...

Re: Going to the theatre

Samuel Beckett, Not I , was amazing. It is a nine-minute monologue taking place in total darkness (not even brightly lit EXIT signs - perfectly illegal - ask a Health and Safety person). All you see is a Mouth which is quite eerie to watch. It feels more like a piece of installation art than theatre...

Re: "This time it's lethal"

You have been in our thoughts all day. I can only repeat what everyone else has said above. Your immediate family and friends must be the greatest support, but you know that you are loved and respected by so many people besides who have (like myself) only briefly met you. Your generosity and astuten...

Re: Holidays - where´ve you been, where´re you going ?

Clash, you probably need to fly from Paris to Dublin, but might take a coach from Dublin to London for about 40 pounds. Again, not necessarily pleasant but will get you there.

If you make it here, I can suggest nice places for a drink and will buy you one :)

Re: good pictures of anything

They can't possibly stand through the whole thing, can they? Nothing wrong with your eyes! They are indeed standing, rain or shine, in what's called the yard, through the entire play. Me, I'm too old for this, but it is the done thing, watch it like the audience in Shakespeare's time. It's the real...

The Green Wave (2010)

Very well-made documentary about the anti-Ahmadinejad movement in Iran in 2009, gives me goosepimples

Re: R.I.P.s

Turns out there is not going to be a state funeral - her own wish - but will be "accorded the same status" as Diana and the Queen Mum, whatever that means.
