Re: ftp ftp yes it's that bloody ftp thread again!!!

Just bringing this back to the top to ask is anyone going to make any contributions to this in the near future. I have a few songs that i'd like to upload but there's no point if nobody else is using it. Its not particularly rare material or anything just bits and pieces. Is there any point?

Re: RDS Dec 22

Isn't all that a little bit pretentious? It seems to me that you guys want to have all the magic and the poetical part of the Pogues, without any of the "eccentricity" that comes with them. Just like if you could get 2000 alcohol-drinking people all behave the same correct and polite way....

Re: The Pogues without Shane

Why are people so against the idea of the pogues without shane, or even discussing the idea? Just because we are all fans (well most of us) of the band as a whole, does not mean we can't acknowlege or realise when any particular member is underperforming. Similarly to how we would single out someone...

Re: The Pogues without Shane

The Pogues (excuse the band for a mo) are Shane!!! Now amongst with many others of you I have watched the Pogues with spider at the helm and ok they were good but isnt half the reason we go to see Shane???? Ok its good to see honours passed over to Phil, Spider, Andrew, Terry etc for a few songs (n...

Re: Independent review of Brixton

Although I was not in Brixton, the Dublin gig could quite easily have been reviewed like that. I'm getting fed up of watching MacGowan screw up songs while the rest of the band try to slow themselves down, or stop altogether, in order for him to catch up. I got the feeling that the rest of the band ...

Re: The Pogues without Shane

First of all, this is quite obviously a HUGE wind up. Secondly, I would far prefer a pogues gig without Shane. Especially if they performed some of shanes tracks with some combination of Spider/Terry/Mr. C on vocals. I saw that video of Greenland in England somewhere, and although it was quite funny...

Re: Dublin 22nd Dec 08

Spiders whistle seem to be out of tune for Repeal (I thought his whistle brand can't go out of tune? Maybe he had the wrong key). The chap has been playing for over 20 years, give him a bit of f*cking credit for Jaysus sake. With respect Chatterbox, I don't think you mentioned that you were actuall...

Fantastic review, thank you very much for that. It seems the whole band are in great form for this tour. Can't wait for Dublin. Thanks again Mark_Wafc.

Re: Last Show Japan 1991

I have a dvd of it and they don't do Star of the county Down on that. Repeal of the licensing laws is a train wreck of a diaster.

Re: Streets of Sorrow / Birmingham Six

I'm Irish and I've never met anyone who talks like that. I always thought it sounded Swedish/Norwegian when I tried to pronounce it.
