Re: Somes bootleg on my YT channel[live '83, nips '79, '86]

Thanks very much for posting these! I've been listening through my old Pogues bootlegs and didn't have these ones mostly.

The 100 club gig is very interesting indeed .I kind of liked me and bobby mcgee! Nice to hear something unique. Banjo is class altogether.

Thanks again!

Re: What does Maidrin Rua mean?

The Pogues played the instrumental "Maidrin Rua" on the CD Hell's Ditch. I was wondering if it meant something special, because on the first Tossers CD, they also did a song called Maidrin Rua, but it doesn't sound the same at all. It should. Apart from a few notes in different places, an...

Re: The Pogues in july 1996...

I was going to create a new topic but may aswell hijack this one. What are peoples experience of the Pogues in this era? Sort of 93-96. I'd love to see/hear some stuff from then but its not exactly easy to get your hands on. Just wondering what have people seen or heard and what they thought of the ...

Re: England, Scotland, Ireland 2009

Finnair used to fly Dublin-Helsinki but i think Aer Lingus are the only ones who fly that route direct now.

Re: The missing lyrics for the Box Set

Thought I'd try 'The Last Of McGee' as its one I thought was quite good and i couldn't find the words on google anywhere. There was Pearse and McGee, and Brown made three,in chains they crossed the sea, In Australia they stood, and as bold comrades would, they made their own plans to leave, To the b...

Re: The Pogues Do Hollywood!

Turkish Song Of The Damned is already in a film. I've definately heard it at least once in a film (can't remember the film though). Definately thousands are sailing could be in a film. APistol for paddy garcia would also fit well. Although it was probably in 'Straight to Hell' the alex cox film was ...

Thanks Fr. McGreer for that info. Oh god please not Damien Dempsey. I can't stand him. And I thought Mundy was bad.

Re: England, Scotland, Ireland 2009

Great to hear about these gigs. Even better to see that they're not playing that shed of an RDS again this year. Will there be much standing room in the olympia does anyone know?

Re: transmetropolitan

There were 3 songs in that '07 uk tour that made my night and this was one of them. The other two were 'Greenland' and 'Dark Streets'. Red Roses was only the second pogues album I ever got and I used to play it in the backround while playing pro evo (for those who know their ps2 games). So perhaps i...

Re: The Sun and the moon

Thanks ephoniumdude. Fortunately I seem to have worked it out the right way in the mean time. Seems the same anyway. I just love the change into Em in this song. It really flows very well. alot of songs from Pogue Mahone seem to do that. Great to sit down and play by yourself (and a guitar obviously).

The Sun and the moon

Has anyone got guitar tabs for this song I've been trying to work it out but its not going very well. My search for tabs on the internet was equally as unsuccesful. Might as well share opinions on the track now that theres a topic for it. Its one of my favourites from Pogue Mahone.
