Post number 18151 answering a thread created by post number 38. In its own way that's kinda cool.

I've just heard a couple of tracks, including "TV Screen", and "Song of the Faithful Departed", both very catchy and punkish.
Recently I caught Mr. Phillip Chevron and Terry Woods (with the Mahones) in Canada, where I think they may have covered "Song of the Faithful Departed." Great stuff, and worth checking out if you're into stuff from that era.

Their sound is very different from the Pogues. They seem to alternate from balads ("Under Clerys Clock") to rather raw '70s style punk. Phil Chevron was their front man, so their vocal sound was somewhat similar to the feel of the Pogues' "Lorelei."

I don't know if there are any MP3 of them available. Two "Best of" CDs exist and are worth purchasing though. "Cockles and Muscles" and "Alive! Alive-o!" "Cockles and Muscles" is a collection of studio tracks, and "Alive! Alive-o!" is live tracks plus "bonus rare studio tracks".
