I heard Shane fasted for 40 days in the wilds of Donegal back in the early eighties. The Devil came and tempted him, promising to put him on the cover of Time magazine in 1987 and 2005, if he vowed to form a global super group. Shane declined, and the world is a better place because of it. I also heard that U2 made a secret pilgrimage to Broke Back Mountain during the US leg of the Joshua Tree Tour. Sadly, it was never filmed for Rattle And Hum.

Do the number of head-whacks inflicted correspond with the numeric value of the hour unit (ie: ten whacks fer ten o'clock in the morning/twenty-two whacks fer ten at night etc...)? If so, it's like a musical alarmed-be-very-alarmed clock. Cooool.....

I heard that before they formed the band, all the future Pogues ever did was sit around and discuss how awesome it was going to be to soon be a part of one of the biggest Irish bands of all time.
