Justin Hinds LP "Travel With Love"

Post by Clash Cadillac Mon Jun 06, 2016 3:10 pm

I may have mentioned on another thread that I started a record label to reissue my favorite reggae LP from my days a a college DJ. I neglected to inform all the folks on the raft that the project was completed and may be purchased here. (Come on people I need cash for Pogues swag  )

Justin Hinds has been called the Godfather of Jamaican music and is considered one of the all-time greats. Justin’s songs as a ska artist for producer Duke Reid in the early ’60s with his vocal group, the Dominoes are credited with having a major influence on a young Bob Marley.

In 1997, Keith Richards on break from his mates in The Rolling Stones recorded with and produced Hinds and their group of Nyabinghi drummers. Keith was taken by Justin’s sweet soulful voice which was captured on “Travel With Love” when two ambitious producers from US based Nighthawk Records ventured to Jamaica and assembled an all-star cast of studio musicians including Marley’s rhythm section of Aston “Family Man” and his brother Carly Barrett along with founding member of The Skatalites, Tommy McCook. These recording sessions in 1984 produced this gem which was released in 1985. This classic rock steady masterpiece has stood the test of time.

Or post a message to the topic indicating its status. Since posts to the bazaar have to be approved anyway, this would be a heads-up to the Janitors to sweep the topic under the rug.

You could use the edit feature yourself to indicate that a particular item was no longer available.

The Medusa Bazaar

This forum exists to allow for Medusa members to flog their wares.

We have a diverse group of people here - musicians, painters, photographers, authors and more. The Janitors recognize this, and want to give the Community a chance to spread that creative love around. But ... (yes, there's always a But...) ... we don't want this to descend into some kind of e-commerce grotto. As such we're locking this down a little more than the rest of the fora:

  • Only registered users can create new topics here
  • All topics and posts well require janitorial approval
  • Guest users are not able to create topics
  • "Stagnant" topics will be automagically removed after 180 days (six months) of inactivity
The Janitors will make every effort to allow a breadth of things to be offered, but we will use our own judgment to decide where the line between "friends selling their wares" ends and "spammy crap" begins. We will be more accepting of things that reflect "I make this and think Pogues fans will like it" and much less accepting of "my company sells Cell Phones cheap!" Between these two is a lot of wiggle room. If you suspect an item will dance dangerously close to "spammy crap," include a private note of explanation for the Janitors in your post. We promise to be nice if you keep us in the loop.

If you are flogging an item available via Amazon, that you contact DzM ahead of time so that we can attach an affiliate ID to your links. This will help us derive some Amazon kickback to help pay for keeping Medusa afloat.

We recognize that this may be distasteful to people. This is an experiment. If it works, then we're all happy. If it becomes tawdry, it goes into the bin.
