A special mention to Phillip. As much as I love the Pogues I don't think I'd have been as involved as I am without his dedication to this fora. He was and is something special. Forever in our hearts.

One time Mr. MacGowan said "There's enthusiasm for you" when I was screaming in his face. Which I took as a compliment. So there's a high bar. Also a really, really, low one... Ah, well.

Absolutely. The most brilliant, original and dynamic chit-chatter to rule these pages.

I was thinking that it would be cool to have a meetup on Philip's birthday next year. In unison.
Under Clery's clock and the Cohan statue in Father Duffy Square being the most obvious starting points.
June 17, 2014 is a Tuesday.

Think I met Fr McGreer too but didn't get to say confession, probably for the best  and another massive thanks to Frances for the ticket, it was a huge rush starting from about 12 today from Galway to Shannon to Gatwick to Brixton but I got there in the end and I'd like to think I did it justice.

Until next time troops - keep her lit!

Great fun. Too bad they tossed us out of the bar as I still had room for a few more pints and could talked for hours more. Spending time with so many Medusans is almost getting to be as much fun as the gigs themselves. Safe home...

Travelling to Brixton on Thursday afternoon, hopefully will see & talk to a few of you in the Canterbury. Does anyone know of a bar to go after the show for a few more late ones?

Gonna be doing the 19th, but with herself, and will most likely be sticking anti-socially to being steaming in a relatively quiet corner.

Which of the old crowd are around for this then? I don't know if I'll have a ticket but I'll try and make it down to say hello to some old friends and possibly some new ones!

THURSDAY, 19th DECEMBER
THE MARQUIS OF LORNE
49, DALYELL ROAD,
BRIXTON, LONDON SW9 9SB
(5.45 - 6.45pm)

It's beautiful pub, a little farther, but still only about a 5-minute walk according to google maps:

That is OK if you are walking down from Stockwell. I like The Duke of Edinburgh on Ferndale Rd, and Trinity Arms as well. Always found The Canterbury a bit rubbish to be honest! Turn left out of Brixton tube, left again there are a couple of pubs The Prince Albert and Dogstar on Coldharbour Lane.

Thanks for the directions out of Brixton tube. :) I'll probably stop in for a moment at each of these you've mentioned.

I will be at the Thursday show and will stop by the Canterbury. Unfortunately no time to stay and watch more shows, but hoping the friday show will be great! We are two fans flying in from Norway.
