I was describing my trip to friends. " So you saw the same show twice, then?" I was asked somewhat perplexedly. Well, no, not exactly.

It was an amazing evening. It was so great to finaly show my favorite band to my wife! A couple of stories I want to share with you:
In the queue in front of the ba there was an 02 girl telling us that on the 19th there had an enormous amount of guinnes been sold. (Cant remember the amount of pints she said. 3700??) At 21.10 on friday the guinness was sold out..
Around 21.00 a speaker anounced the band was waiting to come on because there still was a large queue outside (at least that is what i understood) An employee told me later that Shane came in a taxi and rushed on stage and after the show he left immediately. (Dont now nor care if thats true)
The band went through the set with great speed. There was so much going on on stage! James was on fire, (even made a snow angel in the fony snow infont of the stage!) Terry great as ever, Jems banjo playing was awesome. Shane's voice and performance was wonderfull but his walking seems to get worse.
1000's was so emotional for me. Mr Walbourne is a good replacement but nobody can realy fill the shoes of Phil..
In the feedback of the last song a roadie gave spider a guitar wich he used to make more feedback. After that he smashed the guitar 'pete townsend' style. Too bad the stage hands got the pieces, the tray spider used to smash his head went to a fan!
Man what a show!

Shane even got a birthday cake from Victoria!

Met a guy from inverness (Donald/Pogue mahone - apologies if the name is wrong) who had flown down for the gig, landed at Gatwick and then took a taxi from Gatwick to the venue, bought me not one but two beers and would not take a penny for it, great Tattoo of Shane on his arm. Top man!

That was more like it on Friday - the difference between Thursday and Friday was vast - and I thought I would get far more of a slating than I did for my comments when I got home after Thursdays gig. Really, it wasn't that I was disappointed - although Shane was a little worse for wear- it just that following the awesome Manchester performance I just knew it could have been sooooo much more - and the crowd just didn't lift the atmosphere in the way they did on Friday.
Fridays show was unbelievable - completely on par with manchesters - for which I am thankful.

I think I met that guy you talk of Moose a good few years ago - we were stood at the bar on the 3 rd of 3 nights at Brixton on a Saturday night and he started talking to us - we were chatting and he showed us the portrait tattoo of Shane and if he's the same guy he even called his son Shane ( if he told you that ) - he had just flown down then too - worked on the oil rigs as a cook if I remember right. Cracking bloke - kept getting us drinks too - though we did buy him them back. It was quieter that night being the 3rd (date added - due to popular demand) there was no queue at the bar.
Whose stupid idea are the 2 pint glasses at Brixton  ok if you can get one but they take twice as long to fill, everyone still wants 2 so they don't have to queue again and they haven't put any more staff on duuuurrrrr.
