I know that I'm late but I just have to write what an amazing gig it was! One of the best that I've ever been to.
I've always wanted to go to Ireland and ever since I started listening to the Pogues I've been wanting to see them live. So it was like two dreams coming true. I stood right at the front, in the middle, in front of Shane. It was amazing. It was one of the most happiest moments in my life, I just couldn't stop smiling! Everyone was in good shape and I'm so happy you played London Girl :) Hopefully I'll see you guys again.

kahaya wrote:Unreal gig, a giddy Shane and absolutely unbelieveable musicianship from all of the lads, Philip, Terry, James, Jim, Daryl, Spider and Andrew. Brass section was brilliant again too and Ella was brilliant for Fairytale. Loved the version of Thousands, may you all have many more years of gigging ahead of you all. One of the best Pogues gigs I've ever been to.

Wish i could mind it! Just remember getting kicked on the shin during boat train!lol. That was my 6th pogues gig and wanted to be a goodin. Hada a great night all the same. :)

Did you play those songs?

Mats was there, ladies and gentlemen. Perhaps it was that kind of night.

Wish I was, wrote this while I was still in Gothenburg and was surprised to see the additions to the set. Comments about the 9th are already said by others. Thanks for an amazing show in Killarney. Turned out to be one of those nights after the show :)

I think I should issue a warning in case this covetted gem ever does turn up on YouTube - Shane's version of the lyrics managed to substantially rewrite the history of the First World War. Which just goes to show how hard it is to ruin a great tune.

Lol... what did he mix up ? I did not recognize it. I just was listening to that beautiful song sung with Shane's great voice which just is perfect for an anti war song !

To the best of my knowledge, he reverted to the more widely accepted historical narrative tonight in Glasgow. 8)

NEVER, EVER was there a more apt phrase to describe the way our gang felt at 11.30pm on thursday night. I had tickets for wednesday but couldn't make it :x :x

But, lucky for me, i'm the only one travelling over to London to get the chance to sing a final farewell with The Pogues. 8)

See you in The Canturbury!

The gig on the Thursday was kind of billed as the one to be at - you know tickets not being released for sale and all that - but Dublin Olympia on the Wednesday night was where it was at 8)

This small venue is great - I remember almost nothing of last year here so it was great to take it all in. The mood was brilliant and everyone was singing or drunk but in many cases both. I lost my balance in the pit a fair few times.

The music and song was (as has already been noted) unbelievable. And I think at the end of the gig there was possibly a little high within the band as some of them stayed on stage a little longer after the end of Fiesta and the lights had gone up - was it Spider and Darryl doing a little shoe shuffling together ?

The next night I knew I had had a tough time cos when I put myself in position to do it all over again and the elbows and arms etc came slamming in there was'nt a part of me that wasnt beaten and bruised.

Wednesday was awesome, Thursday much less so - but taking this into account:

See you in Manchester on Friday :D

The show was, in one word, super!

Scandinavia was well present, as Philip showed :D
I had my best Dirty Old Down -experience ever, thanks to one very lovely Swede :) ...Dear Santa, one wish, let me find him in here...

Thanks, Pogues!

Spider's version is of course from Thursday 9th, on which evening, according to today's The Sun [Irish Edition] Shane was plastered on POITIN.
