As usual in there the ventilation was off or far too inefficient and oxygen was only a dream.

But anyway, who cares when you get to see Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello, Social Distortion and The Pogues in a row? Who cares, I say.

I realized only after straight to hell, when the boys came up on stage, that I was going to see the band in its original lineup! And I'm not talking about the one in the center, but about the one who plays the guitar, which I hadn't had the pleasure to see in december '09 8) . I really liked the show, everyone seemed in good form, and when I say everyone I mean... everyone! I had the impression that every song was played a little slower than usual, but apart that it was splendid, and awesome to see The Pogues so close to home. Thanks for touring europe again! And see you next year... :D

We were informed in advance by the road crew that the place was just a sauna by the time they were setting up. Spider inexplicably turned off Shane's electric fan for "Repeal" and "Tuesday Morning".........personally, I was glad of the gentle breeze wafting through Manhattan during "Thousands of Sailors".

I don' think the Wild Rover has been played for a while, shame really. Either way it sounds like a good gig with some really great bands on the list. The Subways are always worth a listen

il tuo italiano è perfetto :)!!!

I don't know how can you put in the same festival a band like Babyshambles...I forgot to say that Pete Deoherty put the UK Flag on the stage before che Pogues concert...

Summer 2009 - Europe

Post by zanna1980 Mon Jun 15, 2009 8:46 am

Hi All!

I was in Milan for the Rick in Idro, so I can tell you something about this european tour.

The location moved from a park to a close area (palasharp) so consider that also today in Milan there are 34 degrees!!!

The festival started with some unknows bands in Italy (subways - all american rejects) but everything changes with the flogging molly (fantastic!), gogol bordello, social distortion and babyshambles.
The bands are not very famous in Italy that's why the festival was not sold out but I guess that the attendance was around 3.5/4 thousands.

The Pogues were the headliner of the festival and they played for an hour and half, the concert was fantastic.

Shane was completely drunk, he took a break every three songs and when he every time he came back with a beer and a cigarette!Sometime he sat on a chair in front of the drum but his voice was very good.
They played several songs as Tuesday Morning, Rainy Night in Soho, Sally, Turkish Song for Damned, Dirty old Town and the end with Fiesta.I don't know why they didn't play the wild rover and fairytale of new york.

Sorry for my poor English!
