Well with respect the band are seeing it from a different perspective, they have intimated that this years "gig" was Belfast, personally i preferred the Birmingham gig, i've never seen in the Barrowlands but have in the Glasgow academy and i've gotta say Birmingham academy is the venue of those currently doing the rounds in the UK, but as is the case with these things it is only my personal view and i have to agree i'd love to see them at Barrowlands from what i've herd it's a top venue, the wright size to see the band , maybe next year

I don't see how it could be better than that anywhere.

I was in high spirits after the gig, went into scruffys which was good fun when they played 3 pogues songs then the ceol castle for the brummies on here till 4am.

woops, I meant it was good at the NIA, but twice was enough there. Think i'll be at the academy again next year!

Am just watching some clips of it now on youtube.

Manchester Central - Miles better, stil a big auld place and you feel like your waiting for a train to arrive but the sound was spot on; standing only too

I shall have to sample it if i get the chance next time, sorry i missed you at Brum by the way

Yeah, likewise; we had a few pints in the Afternoon round Brum and headed to the pub the meet was arranged for but it was utter chaos in there so we fired off to the venue to see some of the Holloways. Who turned out to be very good indeed.

I have to agree, these are the venues i've seen them in since the re-union of 2001
Birmingham carling academy - shit for getting a drink but top atmosphere
Glasgow Carling academy - Shit for getting a drink and queues for the toilet - great atmosphere
London Brixton Academy-Not great for a drink, bit bigger than Brum - Top Atmosphere, The Pogues own Backyard - a must do venue if you're serious about the band
Birmingham NIA and Nottingham Arena and Dublin Point - Big arena's better for a drink and a piss ( except Dublin which is unbelievably bad for both and as such gets my vote as the worst venue of those i've been to ) and for me these places lose a bit on the atmosphere
New York Nokia Theatre - What a top top venue, fantastic facilities, the best public bogs i've ever been in !, superb bars and a lovely size, maybe cause i was in another country on Paddys day made it better, i don't know but this was a great gig and facility wise easily the best venue i've seen the band in and it was a special atmosphere, paddys day, first New York gig for 15 years
Belfast Nugent Hall / Queens Hall- I'll let you know when i get back but I'm expecting a big atmosphere here
Places i've not yet seen them include Manchester which would appeal more if it was a smaller venue
And of course back in the day when i was but a young carefree soul, many great memories....................

Shane was absolute class as were the band and im considering trying to marry Spider Stacey's hat! wasa pretty darn impressed with the Holloways too... oh sod it, i could be here all night praising the Pogues, ill just say the best band in the world were amazing and be done with it!!! thanks to all the folks who were so lovely to me, who needs to bother with the first 11 months of 2008??? x
