My long-winded explanations of how torrents work have been known to lull many a partier to sleep. They (the explanations) are long on theory, short on any detail, and shockingly short on anything that might be considered useful for the young downloader who "just wants to know how to make it work."

Ok, the upshot seems to be: Go to the live shows instead! Fine by me. :)

Here's a HowTo for you Windows users:
http://www.riverpast.com/en/support/tut ... ac/mp3.php

Here's a util for you Mac users:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21952

And a blog entry describing generally what all of this is doing:
http://evanz.org/quixotic/846/

Of course I should also point out that, as usual, requests for the shows, for swaps, for the actual boots, etc are prohibited here.

give a listen to "straight to hell", that might change your mind! and i tend to think "london calling" in this collaborative form sounds like it was written for the accordion.

cheers!

Nope.

I recall that at that time I knew who The Pogues were, and I knew who The Clash were. Finding out that someone from The Clash was going to be performing with The Pogues just made things extra more exciting.

Wow that's fantastic.

Can't wait to hear it too. Thanks!!

I'm getting a kick out of this thread. Something about the professionalism of the bootleg set and the personal connection of the soon-to-be customer is stimulating. One of these days I want to learn how to take advantage of this wonderful server I'm reading about. I have a lightning fast connection.
