I've never seen the point of doing a cover of a band that is from a similar genre. Pogues doing Dylan, Springsteen, Clash, Waits, Velvets, Christy Moore etc etc. Yawn.

How about covering some Girls Aloud? Chemical Brothers? Lupe Fiasco?

Same as the perennial ''who should support the Pogues on tour? question''. Asking for Flogging Molly, Tossers, DKM ad infinitum surely shows a chronic lack of imagination? How about LCD Soundsystem? Pendulum? Simian Mobile Disco? But those are probably thoughts for another thread and another day.

Don't forget UB40's version of Red Red Wine

Or the Monkeys "I'm a believer"

Shanes version of Roddy McCorley is great. The Best Pogues cover is Medley.

I'd love to hear them do "The West's Awake" They'd out do The Wolfetones.
