From my old NTSC VHS video:

"The Pogues Live at the Town and Country", Island Visual Arts, 440-082 165-3, Island Records, Inc.; 1988 Vision Productions Film and Television." It's copyrighted.

or are we talking about a different video?

Umm. Depends. Does it say "Region 1" on it somewhere, or does it say "Region Free"?

I'd bet money that a Sony player will enforce the region bit. Sony is, after all, the owner of a giant movie studio.

They are, but they're typically "region locked" to prevent DVDs from one area of the planet being played in another. In theory this allows the content producers to charge according to what the local economy will support without worrying that people will buy cheap DVDs and export/import to a more economically vibrant region.

Functionally this doesn't mean much any more. Many DVD players are now "region free" (meaning that these players ignore the region bit).

...european Region 2 and multi-region DVD players...

I thought, unlike VHS, that DVDs were all the same?

and, where/when is/was this available? It was hard enough finding the VHS years ago, and locally at that.

OK, Live in Japan it is. I'l get it uploaded sometime soon.

As for the Poguevision I have, it is really just a compilation of Pogues/Shane videos. I am pretty sure a number of them were transferred from the Poguevision VHS, but it also includes some Shane solo stuff, plus the "Perfect Day" video, (from the BBC release).

I can get together a track listing and post it on here if you like.
