Ask Terry Chimes to crack the opening to Janie Jones into your back.

Have seen them a couple of times and really enjoyed it. I am going to see them tonight at the Hammersmith Club. It was great to see Mick Jones live. I did see the Pogues with Joe Strummer at the Brixton Academy which was great and I am glad I had the opportunity to see him live even though at the time there was of course the underlying sadness of Shane not being in the band. Also saw The Good The Bad and The Queen with Paul Simenon at the Rock Against Racism event over the Summer so by default I kind of like to think I have done the best I can in pieceing together the Clash live experience. Perhaps I just need Topper Headon to come over to my flat and bang out the drums to "Rock The Casbah" to complete the job.

Their sound is growing on me. Its like .....the Clash (c. Sandinista) meets Big Audio Dynamite (without Letts and all the sampling) meets Sig Sig Sputnik.

Its grown on me. And its nice to hear Mick Jones playing music again. Always liked his guitar style.

Great show last night! I haven't been that impressed by a show since...well the Pogues! Such a small venue, packed house, & it seemed the band was having as much fun as us. It was kind of weird seeing Mick doing all the same mannerisms, the way he plays & such that I've seen in so many Clash videos. He even played a little Police on my Back while introducing the band. If they come to a town near you, GO!

well it turns out the show at T.T.'s in Cambridge is sold out. I'm wicked bummed. I haven't been able to locate any tickets on ebay or craigslist and i'd be deeply indebted to anyone who could point me towards a pair. (or at least one, as i'm sure i can make my girlfriend understand). I'm happy to pay above cost if need be as my finances have recovered from seeing The Pogues in New York and in Boston. Feel free to reply here or e-mail me at jimmcs AT comcast.net. Thanks for any help!

Have you ever heard of the term "glory hole"? I mean no disrespect to you or Mick, but I could not help raising this to your attention. Cheers....

E5, a Glory Hole is also a piece of equipment for glassblowers in the hot shop. The language of glassblowing is colorful. We reheat in the "glory hole", "neck", get "bench blows", "jack" and apply "lip wraps". I kid you not.

While its true I may be in my glory watching Mick Jones play his instrument in this hole of a bar, there is nothing sexual or gay about it.

You must of gone to Public School....

Actually, I attended 12 years of Catholic school, and graduated top of my class. Believe it or not, I am quite intelligent & I do know the difference between everyday slang & proper English. I was not aware that posting on The Pogues message board required perfect English. Maybe in Dracut people speak "The King's English" everyday, in casual conversation, but in Boston, we do not.

Jeez, sorry Son of Erin, I wasn't making a joke about your English, I was making a little joke about you "not heard of them
(Carbon/Silicon)" meaning the elements-as I admittedly have no clue about the band.
