Anyone that is interested in seeing the Young Dubliners in NYC, they are playing this Thursday at the Canal Room. Most likely you'll hear them play "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" and "Waxies' Dargle." Maybe "Pair of Brown Eyes."

Here's the show details:
Young Dubliners With Michael Brunnock and Annie Minogue
8:00pm (doors 7:30pm)
$12 in advance
$15 at the door
285 W Broadway & Canal
Canal Room, NYC

Their van and trailer were recently stolen so the band could use the support. they are also playing:
Sept 23rd / Tues / Stroudsburg, Pa Sherman Theater
Sept 24th / Wed / Pawling ,NY Towne Crier
Sept 25th / Thurs / New York ,NY Canal Room
Sept 26th / Fri / Framingham ,MA Amazing Things Theatre
Sept 27th / Sat / Hartford, CT Riverfront Plaza
Sept 28th / Sun / Upperville, VA Black Thorn Inn
Sept 29th / Mon / Arlington, VA The Birchmere

The Young Dubliners have done a covers collection of well known "Irish" songs including pretty strong covers of Brown Eyes and IISFFG.

They have the video for If I Should Fall From.. on Amazon.com. It sounds alright, but I can't tell you how much more I love the Pogues version.

As for other Young Dubliners, I liked Red quite a bit, but Real World didn't really do anything for me.

Sixth? Hmmm I am behind the times with this band, aren't I? :D

Must redouble my efforts to buy something by them!

Their last album was good as well. Real World it was called. They did Waxie Dargle on that album.

I have yet to see them live though.

When I saw them live they did 2-3 pogues songs and a fair few traditional numbers.

I've heard a fair bit of the material from their first cd, really enjoyed it, and have been meaning to get a copy for some time. I'd no idea they'd released a second cd!

Young Dubliners- Irish Sessions

Post by SkaPunkAndOtherJunk Fri Feb 23, 2007 1:03 pm

I'm currently listening to the new Young Dubliners album: With All Due Respect: The Irish Sessions.

They cover If I Should Fall from Grace With God and A Pair of Brown Eyes. Anyone else hear this yet? I thought the covers were pretty good!
