Obviously a simple typo - but I immediately pictured somebody standing lower stage right, in a small spotlight, frantically trying to keep up to the singer with sign language for the deaf.

They're really fun. But the signer couldn't speak English to save his life. He's harder to understand than Shane. ;)

Late to the party on this (as usual...) but here's a YouTube vid of the Pogoes doing IISFFGWG:

The singer's Shane 'impression' is pretty amusing.

I remember hearing Tokyo Skunx around '95/'96 from the Japanese bass player in my band at the time. 'Rustic Stomp' I think he called it. Cool stuff. The Cherry Coke$ are quite good IMO, but I expect most on this board have heard them already.

Japanese Pogues cover band!!

Hey all,
Went down to my local the other night and to my surprise (well not really) there was a Japanese cover band of the Pogues.. named - Pogoes.. Quite good on the music end of things but the singer was a bit off.. Sorry.. sounded more like Tom Waits than Shane. Worth checking out if in the Tokyo area, Yokohama and also Shimo Kita in the near future if I can remember rightly.
They are all members of MIXI - which is a Japanese Myspace thing - 3000 Pogues members - so if you can get into there they might have a couple of videos up.. I have heard that you have to be invited to join MIXI though :?
The best thing about them was this 6 year old wee man who knew all the words in English and was jumping about and asking me to spin - Sally Mac.. GREAT!!
