This is a really bloody cool idea. Good on you, Fintan. A really creative way of using these Internets to help promote yourself.

Cheers Orrok! And how the f!@$ are ye anyway?
There's soundbytes from several songs on my website, and I'll soon be starting my new, insane, evil project - The Kitchen Sessions: mp3 recordings of full songs, just me and the guitar, available for free download from the website.
The aim is to record as many of the songs that I know as I can, and let you folks have them for free. Fuller orchestrated versions will be released on successive albums (and people can have input into which ones they'd like to see included), which will be worth paying for, but this way I get to play to a wider audience - and also provide, hopefully, a resource for learners and younger musicians: a set of reference tracks as to how the melody and chords and lyrics to standards and other songs kinda go. Well, my versions anyway.
Capiche? Catfish? Fishbone?

Welcome new friend.Enjoy the site,it's alot of fun.Back to the Irish music part of the thread...Hey Fin,do you have any mp3's posted on the site anywhere??Maybe you'd like to drop a song or 2 or 3 to give the kids what they want.Or maybe you wouldn't...just a suggestion, maybe you've already done it elsewhere on the site & you can point people in the right direction. If you haven't,a fan of yours would like to suggest The Catalpa,The Rose Of Allendale,The Pound A Week Rise & Grace. If those buggers don't sell a cd,nothing will!! :D

Just dawned on me... I hope our guest/friends name is Sam's Cross in honour of The Big Fella, as opposed to Sam Is Annoyed. Otherwise the Mick Collins reference was wasted.

It is in Michael Collins honour, not bad for an englishman, eh? I shall have to register, if nothing else in gratitude for the October 12th tickets to the Filmore in my living room.

Umm. Actually he won't see that. Only registered users see that. I think. Maybe he will see it, but will only be able to use it after he registers. Or something.

Poop. Remembering is hard.

And a name like Sam's Cross gets you some serious Michael Collins cred.

P.M.ing means to send a Private Message, as opposed to Prime Ministering, which is a job best left to psychopathic midgets :D
Somewhere on the bottom of this message you will see a little button that says PM. Click it. When sending a PM, always remember to include a title/header, otherwise the message will not send.

This may make this easier:
1. PM me your postal address.

2. PayPal to craig@fintan.com.au

3. Price (including post and packing)
$30 Aus Dollars
$25 US Dollars
£15 British Squid
21 Euros

4. Sit back and wait (about 5-10 days outside Australia).
5. Enjoy. I hope.
6. Go to the appropriate Heaven/Samadhi/Happy Hunting Ground/Paradise-With-Hot-And-Cold-Running-Houris at the appropriate time much later in your charmed lives.

Thank you. I now return you to your normal station.

The person responsible for causing me distress - would you believe from my own fecking home town, and a former school friend - has been, shall we say, reprimanded. My urge to fly up there and nail their head to the floor has been quelled - temporarily - but this guy will no longer be on our Kwanza-card list. At the very least.
I have no problem with giving some copies of this work out to some people, hell, I sent it out like a shameless hoor in some cases. If you like I can send it now, and you can pay me later. I'm a trusting kinda guy. Doesn't always pay off, but I know who my friends in here are. Eric, Walshy, Sheva, Orrok, yourself and many more - these people will be on the VIP guestlist for a long time to come. PM me your address. It's fine...

Thanks for that Fintan, may just do that in case I miss out, although I would rather wait until I've got the money, I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to owe anyone so let me have a think about it and I'll PM you later in the week.
