It's based on the book by Philomenia Lynott (Phil's mother) so at least the story will accurate at least in the view of his Philomenia. And every legend should have their story told.

I am very excited about this movie happening. I couldn't care less if it is "Hollywood", I'm just happy that the man is actually getting some attention 20 years after his death. Hopefully this will get people to start listening to his music more. I'd love to see some more stuff realeased from the archives. He was great and it was sad to see the decline in his talent when the drugs took hold (see Grand Slam)

i can sorta see the guy from CSI playing Phil Lynott but am slightly nervous if it's an American production. No dig at the Yanks here by the way it's just it may lose something in the translation - i'd rather have '24 Hour Party People' than 'Almost famous' .

Called My Boy Staring the black guy from CSI as Phil Lynott and Sam Mumba brother as a young Phil Lynott.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416061/
