I don't mind the singers voice, but the sound could be better, last year was perfect!

I saw this band for the first time yesterday at Rock am See in Konstanz, Germany. They got the crowd working, but they didn't get me. I can't stand the singer's voice...

Going to see their gig tomorrow in Ljubljana (Slovenia). They changed the venue, due to bad weather forecast, from a small backyard in Metelkova (a former prison, now a group of about 8 small bars, all covered in graffiti and packed with art installations http://www.metelkovamesto.org/?mode=static&id=19 ) to a former cinema in the city centre. Saw them play there last year and it was great!

Flogging Molly had been on a European Tour and on Nov 23th they have been in Hamburg. Before their show they (Dave King and his wife) held a little acoustic session at the FC St. Pauli Fanshop on the Reeperbahn, check it out here: http://www.core-tv.de/en/archive/flogging-molly

I think it's ok. Way better than Float and it has some standout tracks. Not their best CD, but it's worth getting.

Any opinions on their new album called Speed Of Darkness?

I think it's better than Float, but I have to say it's not as good as the older records...

Funny, I've seen them a few times and have their cds but don't see the comparison to the Pogues that they should be all vocal about, and I don't see Dave as being some Irish characature wanabe. I just like their music and enjoy the company of the crowd who come to the shows, many of which are Pogues fans. Cheers!

FM are a great live band (saw them back in '04,) and I will leave it at that. I have their albums, but all of them have failed to impress me. I like some songs on Swagger and Drunken Lullabies, put after that it is one pensive song afther other, and sometimes I can't tell one song from the next, because almost all of them sound the same. Plus, I hate that Dave King tries to distance himself from The Pogues, saying FM is more influenced by Johnny Cash and others, well that may be, but give fucking credit, where it is due; given the fact that I can name at least five or six songs by FM that sound exactly like The Pogues.
