I regret never really asking Philip about these kinds of things. I mean, yeah, they're lip syncing. But some times they really look like they're having fun; other times they're clearly miserable. What was it like out on that stage pantomiming the studio track? In this case they were having fun and talking to each other. What were they talking about? What was it like explaining to the producers that two members of the band couldn't be bothered to show up (or, in the Late Show example, that literally only Spider and Paul "Mad Dog" McGuinness showed up)?

I'm always curious about what it was like to make the sausage, and I regret I didn't ask about it more.

Spider really nails the accordion solo! Clearly a lip synch, but they look like they're having a lot of fun.

Not on my version....They're visible on both tracks.

I've just spent half an hour uploading it to Youtube to be told it's Copyright restricted. Damn!!

Has anyone ever seen the Saturday Night Live performance of "Body of an American" online? I'm a longtime fan of The Pogues based in Tucson, AZ trying to track it down. Thanks for any help.

The "Body of an American"-Video was on there as well, but was sadly removed after a while. It was great. I read that the band played "Battle of Brisbane" as well, but never saw a video of it, don't know.

Yes, it is widely reported that we also played "Battle of Brisbane" but in fact we did not.
