Just listening to the radio and who comes on to be interviewed? Yes, Spider. He comes across very well but it's like getting blood out of stone regarding plot and songs involved He says the title will be 'A Fairytale Of New York'.
As soon as the listen-back link is up I'll link it here.

Ok here's the link. Newstalk Radio, Sean Moncrieff Thursday May 4th part 1. About 10 mins in.

I heard a little more buzz about the project from David Plotz on Slate's political gabfest:

http://www.slate.com/articles/podcasts/ ... ebook.html

Scroll to 46 minutes, for some love for David Simon and the Pogues as well as his offer of a decent playlist and an outlandish possible plotline.

Oh, and here is David Simon himself about the project on his blog: http://davidsimon.com/the-pogues-project-clarified/

Bit of a late Christmas present isn't it? I saw the line "David Simon writing musical based on songs by favorite band" on twitter and my heart jumped. Looking forward to this. I have been watching The Wire and I am confident Simon will do a great job

It appears David Simon (Wire, Treme etc.) is penning a stage musical featuring the music of The Pogues for the Druid Theatre in Galway, Ireland:
