If I'm not mistaken, It was the Record Company who sold this to an ad agency, not the Pogues members themselves.

I picture something more akin to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas when conjuring The Pogues and Escalade. Ultra Violence, instead of some Pottery Barn looking family car advert.

Those video games are hysterical... just awful. Ha, ha!

Caddies were once used as the "Gold Standard" of all fine things, e.g. This watch is the Cadilaac of timepieces. I think it is fitting the Pogues have associated themselves with this marque!

Phil-hope you are doing well, you are in our thoughts.

Caddie Add

Post by hearforthemusic Mon Jul 02, 2007 3:13 pm

My girlfriend told me they used the song in a Caddie ad. I figured they would use the "nice part" of the song so as not to "offend" anyone. When she said no, she heard it herself I laughed my azz off. Good for the Pogues, get some corporate money so you can keep doing what you love to do and we love to have done for us.

This is better then Carnival cruise using Lust for Life (snas the good lyrics)

I finally saw the commercial -- with the exception of seeing it on YouTube a few months ago, I finally saw it aired on some channel during a Real Estate show. I hope you guys are getting paid well for that Phil. Let's see...that's how many bottles of gin for Shane?

Have caught the ad a few times now - I think on BBC America. Instantly puts me in a good mood.....a good emotion to feel alot of the time about music. Evn more delighted when I caught by 19 month old run to the TV to see the ad when the music started playing....the only other advert he had ever done that to was the BA ad..Aria on Air (i think).
