I've spoken with the author via facebook, she assures me that the article was heavily edited, and she her self wasn't happy with the final outcome.

No Irish band would be anything without alcohol.

Maybe the boys should spend less time drinking and more time marketing here in America.

This article is absolutely RIDICULOUS. It really doesn't surprise me that it was written by a USC first year. I know a lot of people who go there, and many of them are quite similar to our friend jen here. Don't want to stereotype, though.

Whatever, it's seriously shite . . . Confirms my prejudices about student newspapers.

I'm nearly speechless....

If this is what the fine universities of SoCal are producing these days, I fear for the future.

"...lack of worldwide fame..." - where has Jen Winston been? The Pogues are one of the most respected and admired group of songwriters and musicians anywhere, and their albums are regularly listed as favorites by other, "more accessible" artists, such as Tom Waits, Steve Earle...

I could go on, but I'm just too amazed at this poorly researched piece of fluff. Man, this annoys the hell out of me. Maybe she's just a kid, and has grown up in the BritneyParisNewKids bubble, and doesn't know any better .I think I'll try to reply directly to the 'author' of this waste of pixels. There is a place to add comments on the website.

Really? I'm pretty sure that they sell out wherever they play whenever they come to the states.
