https://www.discogs.com/Various-Celtic- ... se/3202172
which has another Storm track.

They are for sale on Discogs.com (where there are 155 different artists named Storm  ) You will need paypal. Or if you happen to be in the Vancouver, Canada area, you can trade me beer or whiskey (not toilet paper we've plenty although i might accept masks  )

https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/1083334752
https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/7739622?ev=rb

Warning: the studio stuff tends towards the symphonic celtic rock. The instrumental on the comp is, i understand, much more like they were live.

I was tempted until you described it. :(

My only memory of them was as a young'un at the Warfield in 1991. They were opening for The Pogues (Strummer on vox). I loved them at the time, but could also barely here them, was drunk as hell, and thrilled to be at my first Pogues show. They could have been two rednecks spitting watermelon seeds into a pail and I'd have loved them.

In case anybody is interested... as i am digitizing (much) of my cd collection, i am selling both a copy of the Storm EP & the Ken MacLennanan Featuring Storm album. If somebody here PMs me and wants to buy 'em both i'll give you a superb deal. Let's say 1/2 price AND a free copy of

You will need paypal. Or if you happen to be in the Vancouver, Canada area, you can trade me beer or whiskey (not toilet paper we've plenty although i might accept masks  ) If you're on discogs.com you can buy them right from the site & i'll adjust price after.

I have a cassette (bootleg) of a Storm show from a club in Milwaukee, WI - (they were in town to play IrishFest here - I've seen them twice there too) - their later club gig was recorded and is absolutely fantastic!

I was and still am an avid fan of Storm, I still talk about them to friends up here in Aberdeenshire, I think I am one of the very few that have a CD single, called Bird of Prayer released about 1992. I also have a demo tape they made with some fantastic tracks on.
And my favourite tape is one I recorded of James and Tommy playing on St. Pats day 1991 in the shebeen, Acton. Brings back so many memories!!!
I met Jamie(my hubby) at a Storm gig!!
I've never seen anyone like them since, and sadly never will.

It was originally reported via Popes guestbook I believe:

"Tommy the beast McAnimal is very ill, he is currently in Royal Free Hospital London." (posted on 7th Oct 2006)

No more details, sorry

PS Ok there was this information too:<blockquote>"On Wednesday 29th November, a Basingstoke (Hampshire, UK) venue is hosting a celebratory party, to which everyone is invited, to celebrate its key role in the recent launch of a new country music radio station across Europe, CMR Nashville Radio at http://www.cmrnashville.net

<blah, blah, blah>

"But Lee is delighted to say that there is one very special guest – Cathy McManamon – “Anita” from the smash hit West End & touring show “Girls Night Out”. Not because she is bringing along her brother, a leading light with The Pogues, but because Cathy has kindly agreed to share her passion for country music by singing her forthcoming record release live on stage!"</blockquote>
I do not know what we can make out of it (except they mixed Pogues and Popes up maybe)...

Yes, they guested on that track. I bought the whole Marxman album on the basis of that, but wasn't fussed about the rest of it. :) Donal Lunny's son was in Marxman. Half the band came from Ireland and the other half from Bristol!

The only time I ever heard Storm was when they opened for The Pogues feat. Joe Strummer in October, 1991 at the Warfield in San Francisco.

I spent years looking for music by them in local record shops. Nothing was ever found (unless you count the hair-metal that's preiously been pointed at). Years of sadness followed.

Fucking hell.. Mr Murphy must have taken a day off from his law making. It was in the first place I looked. The tune is called "4610". I'd forgotten how good it was.

Here's to Tom.
