Great song! Typifies every pogues gig I was at (and I was at many) during that glorious 1986-1989 era

Also puts me in mind of the Na Comharsana track "Shano At Ned O" Hill " from the cd The Thrashing Machine

Correct '1986' doesn't fit the song (try it!) so Terry with poetic licence changed it to 1987 -- and it rhymes with heaven.

I've always considered this a lost pogues song. Wonder if they ever recorded it?

Yes it does! Am not sure wether Terry said that at the Chevron, Harrigan Woods gig in Germany some years ago or if it's in the press info I got with my copy of the Bucks CD, anyway I have it in my head that they took 1987 because it sounded better than 1986.
