I saw the clash at one of the Brixton gigs in March 84. I have always believed that the Pogues supported, and would really like to have someone confirm that this actually happened.

I saw the Pogues play at the Finsbury Park Fleadh some years back. I think it may have been their first major gig since all getting back together. I remember that the late great Joe Strummer was also on the bill with his band (the Mascalero's?) earlier in the day and he played some Clash songs. I always wondered how it was that he never came on stage with the Pogues later that evening, which would have been great to see. Maybe it was just one of those things that just "did not happen", but it was a shame, particularly as Joe is no longer with us.

http://homepage.mac.com/blackmarketclas ... DATES.html

The Clash MK2 played a few dates in London on the "Out Of Control"tour [9.10,16,17?] as well as the miners benfit Sargill Christmass party. Not sure if The Pogues suported or not.
I think The Pogues did tour Uk with Costello[ support slot] & own tour early in the year .

The Pogues opened for The Clash at least once- I think in 1984- most definately at the Brixton Academy- it was from memory Clash Mk2- after the departure of Mick Jones.
