This web page seems pretty accurate

https://concerts.fandom.com/wiki/The_Pogues

July 19, 1996 Miles Davis Hall, Montreux, SUI (Montreux Jazz Festival 1996)

https://www.setlist.fm/festival/1996/fo ... 6f605.html

July 27, 1996 Festivalgelände Schöllingstraße, Wiesen, AUT (Forestglade Festival 1996) So here is another show that could possibly have been recorded?

July 28, 1996 Boston Arms Dome, London, ENG (The Pogues final gig was in front of 300 fans at The Dome (the venue on the first floor of The Boston Arms public house), Tufnell Park, London. During the evening, it had been announced that this was the last ever Pogues show. Shane MacGowan joined the band for one last song and as he left the stage and is reported to have shouted "Goodbye forever, thank Christ for that!")

Agreed! I always thought Andrew shoulda had a few more leads. If you've not had a chance to check out Andrew's other band, Mysterious Wheels, it's well worth a listen. He's the lead singer.

Would be wonderful if the Pogues version found its way on to YouTube somehow... ;)

I would love to be the one to put this whole show up, because it *is* a different one, but i'm not really set up for video format conversion, etc. But would be happy to provide a copy of this to anyone who thinks they might be able to, just DM me.

57 track, 2-cd set that collects the bulk of Hawkins' classic material, and all of the stuff with future members of The Band, and some unreleased tracks - incl. three by "Levon & The Hawks" and three by Fred Carter Jr.

And great liner notes. Did you know a young Hawkins enlisted in the military, was assigned to "special services", and performed with a four-piece band of black musicians called - wait for it - "The Blackhawks"?! Always a class act, I have a soft spot for him b/c, as well as bringing The Band together, he used to host the New Year's concerts at Toronto City Hall. What could be better than watching, say, Platinum Blonde, and then have this aging crazy guy in a giant fur coat sing "Bo Diddly"? Warmed you right up, that did.

"Who Do You Love" is still a smokin' record all these years later. The Radiators considered it a Seminal Punk Moment.

Phil's old Radiators bandmates, now as the Trouble Pilgrims, recorded it a few years ago.

It's a cover.
Written by George Thorogood.

I walked forty-seven miles of barbed wire
I got a cobra snake for a necktie
A brand new house on the road side
And it's a-made out of rattlesnake hide
Got a band new chimney put on top
And it's a-made out of human skull
Come on take a little walk with me baby
And tell me who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

Around the town I use a rattlesnake whip
Take it easy baby don't you give me no lip
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

I've got a tombstone hand and a graveyard mind
I'm just twenty-two and I don't mind dying
Who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

Now Arlene took a-me by my hand
She said "Lonesome George you don't understand
Who do you love? "
The night were dark and the sky were blue
Down the alleyway a house wagon flew
Hit a bump and somebody screamed
You should've heard what I'd seen
Who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?
Who do you love?

Ciderman, it's in the "Last Gig With Shane" thread a couple below this one. Reading it again I actually think you were referring to the Clapham Grand 94 gig, but I misinterpreted it as being about the Dome 96.

I've just watched the DVD and listened to the CD bootleg. I'd say he says "Goodnight, thanks for that" Just at the end of Rainy Night in Soho.

Goodnight & Thank You gets said when he leaves the stage after the final song which was Streams of Whiskey

Ciderman, in one of your other posts you imply there is both audio and video of the last(?) London gig from July 96 (the one at The Dome) - is that right?

Not me. Where do you see this?

I find both of the below dates at http://p.bruhat.free.fr/pogues/pog-live.html suspect:

OCT 17TH 1997 : STOCKHOLM, GINO, SWEDEN
SEP 27TH 2000 : SITTARD, CAFE DE BUREN, NL

I'd hazard an opinion that if they're not mentioned in Carole Clerk's book they're not legit, just typos etc. One can't believe everything one reads on the internet.

I spent years keeping an eye open for Willie P. Bennett's original 1969 7" of "White Lines" which was mentioned consistently many places before I finally sussed that the Wikipedia was wrong and the many consistent sources on the internet, and in various media's obits after Willie died, had all just copied the fake news from the Wiki page (and I later confirmed by emailing his first producer, and friend) (and then I changed the damn wiki page!)
