I think (hope) that is you're coming from the south towards Thetford, the roadworks shouldn't affect your journey at all - last time I went up that way, they were north of the junction?

If they are as good as they where in Italy at Rock de Idro there will be a hell of a party in Thetford Forrest and those road works are almost sorted, so you even stand a chance of getting home before the football ends if your sober enough to watch it.

This week has been mad bought red vinyl LP, a ticket to Bologna and now I've treated my wife to taking her to Thetford Forrest for The Pogues ain't she lucky. Reliving my youth or what saw them first in Hammersmith in 1985 and went all over the place following them For years. Bring it on !!!! Though Thetford is a nightmare at the moment as they are carving a great big dual carriageway through it. Took 3 1/2 hours to do a 1 1/2 journey through there yesterday be warned it ain't supposed to be completed till winter 2014.

:-) Yep you're right! If we're not there to hear them, do they make a noise?

I know Thetford forest is real, because I've been there (though not for a gig before).

I know The Pogues are real, because I've seen them.

But whether they're real when I'm not there, well that's a different matter altogether. But then again I may not be real anyway. Eek.

I'd say that's a very good assessment of the situation. :) I have to admit now that I'm pretty sure that I don't exist, so I don't know why (or how) I even brought this whole thing up. :?

Great that the band are playing in my neck of the woods (pardon the pun!). We usually have a three hour journey to see them - not this time! 40 mins should do it!:)

I suspect that this is exactly the way it will go.

Though at least when it comes to accessible toilets, one tree's as good as another.

Venue info here: http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-7NPLSX
and here: http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/forestLive_thetford_2014.pdf/$file/forestLive_thetford_2014.pdf

Although the venue's in Thetford Forest, the nearest town is not Thetford but Brandon, which has a station, but not really walkable to the venue from there, I'd say. And even less walkable on the way back.
The first local taxi company they list is "21st Century Taxis", which is probably a good thing. With those 19th Century Taxis, the cost of feeding the horses is way too high.

I think the plan at the moment is to try to get a carload together from here, which is about 35 miles away. That's the plan, anyway. You know how it usually goes.

This happens to be the weekend after my birthday (and also the weekend before Philip's). If I can persuade Jake to buy me tickets for my birthday we will be going, although Mr Firehazard has told me that it's in the middle of nowhere and this may cause a bit of a problem, but, I will do my best to be there if it's at all possible.
