I was at the gig at the hacienda - drove over from Leeds and drove back over the Pennines on the same night.
No pre-sold tickets but got about fourth in the queue, when the doors burst open and shane staggers out and saunters off down the street - next thing the doors open again and elvis costello (can't remember if it was EC or I've added that over time, sounds good) appears asking if we'd seen Shane - three hundred people pointing thatter way. We got in, they found MacGowan and the night was brilliant. August 1985 I think???
