Fucking amazing show. Best I have been to in years. i was up at the front, screamed myself hoarse, got smacked into by a sweaty fellow from cork who kept yelling he had done coke wit' shane back in the day. I figure there might be a quite a few people with that dubious claim to fame.Show was incredible, played every song i could hope to hear. Took the crowd a little bit to get warmed up, but ended up everything i could hope and more. corny as it sounds, the snow in fairy tale of NY almost made me cry.
I played whistle back in the day, and quit when i saw the pogues years and years ago because i figured i could never play as good as Spider. Some of that may have been that his whistle was in tune and mine never was. Perhaps I will start again, I think i am old enough now to suck and still be happy.
I live in Boston these days, a London/Dublin transplant, and the ticket was a birthday gift. I chose to go to DC because i hate the Orpheum where people have to sit in seats. there is nothing like being smacked around by roaring hoards and drenched in the beer dregs of others.
Any way, you guys are amazing, and Spider is still hot.
TOUR AGAIN!
