Ha - a few years I did that gig sober - after taking about a week to sober up after Dublin - where I couldn't remember much of my day trip - it's good - you get much much more out of it - but frustrating knowing what your missing beforehand ...... Your call - though I owe you a pint :)

I'll be quite honest, Aidan. I think the site is well buzzing. I think it's great that we've all managed to keep it all together and carry on despite the sad loss of Phil. The place hasn't gone flat at all. I'm on the site every day and in a funny kind of way there seems to me to be a lot more posts daily than in the last couple of years. Sometimes it takes me a while to get through everything.

Yes, I'll be around on Sunday, not sure what the plan is yet pub wise. Hope we meet again.

I'm buzzing - and I think I'm the only person left NOT on facebook. Buzzing about Sunday and Thursday and Friday next week
It's the most wonderful time of the year ...... After a short break.

I still come on here despite using Facebook and Twitter too. Each site for me is a different 'audience' if you know what I mean, Facebook for friends and people who know me, Twitter for networking and meeting people I wouldn't ordinarily meet and here for keeping up with what The Pogues and their fans are up to.

I couldn't ever leave Medusa. Wild horses wouldn't even be able to drag me away.

Medusa may well be one of the last refuges for us old facespace-resisters (though I have to admit I've finally been dragged into tweetworld), but we treasure it all the same. Though I'm sure we all are deeply missing our beloved Mr C's presence on this raft.

The cricket team I support recently shut down their official forum, mainly because they got fed up with everyone telling them how carp they were. A few of us have restarted with an unofficial board, but have suddenly realised that we need finances to sustain this.

And get arrested for being drunk in charge of a vehicle, in this country at least. Even though you're not actually driving it. It used to be the case, anyway. I got told off (though let off with a lecture) by an officer of the fine local police force for sleeping off a hangover in the car in my younger days, when I'd got in it early one morning after a heavy session the night before and then realised that as I couldn't actually see I was probably not in a fit state to drive. Is that still the law here?

It's the law here (in NY anyway) - just the other day I heard on the radio a bit about a guy sleeping in his car somewhere in the NYC area. Don't recall where, but the facility where he was parked in a visitor's space was closed and a cop came by to investigate. He saw a guy in the car, woke him up, smelled booze, and arrested him for DUI. Pretty lame.
