It was played in DC the opening night of the 06 US tour.

I haven't done the drive for DC shows, though next time on the east coast I will definately be hitting multiple cities.

I was in Maryland for the first three tours and moved to NJ last year, so the DC shows were local. Saw the Philly show in 07, DC and Baltimore in 08, and NYC this year.

We have actually done the song on numerous unseasonal occasions, on the grounds that a Furry Tail's Not Just For Christmas, most notably in New York, I suppose, in recent times. It actually depends on Ella Finer's availability as much as anything. She has a fairlly full life outside of her occasional work with the Pogues. We could, I suppose, find a deputy if we wanted to, but frankly, now that we have a female co-singer who is a popular, uncontroversial, indeed organic, choice among the band members themselves, we prefer to avoid offering hostages to fortune if we can. Ella has been a part of all our lives, including Kirsty's, since she was a toddler and I think we know she's also somebody Kirsty herself would almost certainly approve of in the role.

It's probably a pain to get the right lady to sing too. Not just anyone can belt out those lyrics. You could always have Ranken do Kirsty's verses but that might not go over too well.
