William Elliott Whitmore will be opening for us at all shows on the December tour. We are not expecting to add any further acts.

You won't have to as the gig's at the apollo. Sadly, there may be twats there too.

I have been to 3 pogues gigs since they reformed- the best was Glasgow '06 (everyone was very friendly & the craic was great) & the worst was Manchester '07 (cos i got into a fight with some Manc chav bastards!!!)

P.S. I have many friends in Manchester but these guys were twats! if you're from Manchester please don't take offense at this! I've been to many gigs in Manchester since then and i've had no problems, however i won't be going back to the MEN Arena!

You were probably just behind me then, I usually stand at the barrier, front left.

If someone spilt a beer over you,,,, it wasnt me it was the mrs,,, :) have a good un in manc on the left this xmas,,, the mrs and me wont be there,,, the joy of working in a school,, bloody kids

Hey, if it is a Sunday as suggested, I won't be in Manchester either. :(

I'm reliant on Saturday gigs with my job, I do have an extra day off, I discover now, after booking only a day off spread over two days for the Liverpool gig (grrrrr). This is because have an extra bank holiday over xmas week, but Jake cannot take time off at that time of year, so we can't stay over like previously, therefore I will be relying on getting the train back and they are pretty crap on a Sunday (from what I remember from last time I went to a gig on a Sunday in Manchester).

What a shame if it is the Apollo as suggested, I love that venue. :(

Got it on fairly (well very) good authority that it will be the Apollo unless I had miles too much to drink ( which is not unusual) and am not remembering correctly - which is also not unusual.

This is not a really bad thing in all - The first couple of gigs at the MEN were good - but I cant deal with the arena feel (there aint no feel) to a gig - GMEX was better but its a massive warehouse feel with no real soul. Obviously the Manchester Academy was a very cool gig - one I thought I would never see, to be honest, but the Pogues have a bigger presence for a major city. So the Apollo it is - I think!!!

I have moved from my native manchester daarn saarf, and always go home (except last year) for the gig then do as many brixtons as the band can sell - This year I will get to as many gigs as I can afford wherever. I think the thread originated around supports and during the first few years of reunion the Saw Doctors seemed to be ending their tour in Manchester as the Pogues had a co-inciding date which made for a better warm up than most other regional dates.

Its a few years since I have been - so whats wrong with the Apollo these days?

I really liked The Gmex/ Central Train station as a venue .Billy Bragg was a top support there .Would love to se The Men They Couldnt Hang at Central , they have loads of songs that would suit the platforms.
Hated most of the big arenas but Manchester MEN is the souless of the lot.
The Apollo is not at all liked by myself ever for lots of reasons.
Manchester Academy would be the best venue , it was used in 2001 for the first reunion gigsif I remember correctly.

Yes, though we prefer our independence and for that reason will be playing a slightly smaller venue in December.

That translates into we cant tfill the Arena!
