Actually that policy is usually venue driven rather than band driven. In all the Pogues shows I've shot I've only ever had one venue insist on that rule - the Wiltern in LA.


I've shot at Roseland plenty of times and that was the only time. I guess it depends on the band, the venue and other factors. Maybe the band can clarify?

I just get baffled by the the 3 song rule and checking your cameras when everyone has a cell phone and p&s camera in the crowd. But the people that actually get passes to shoot the show have to put their cameras away. I don't get it, silly music industry... :roll:

HoB is pretty strict with the rules. I've gotten in with an iPhone camera, but anything more than that and you risk having to chose between your camera and the Pogues.

There is very limited parking around the HoB. There's a small garage on Lansdowne St., but God help you getting in, and getting out. There's lots on Brookline Ave. that may or may not be open. Public transit (Green line, Kenmore Station) is your best bet. If you have to drive, another option is to park at the Boston Common Garage (only $11 to park after 6:00) and take the Green Line outbound from Park to Kenmore.

Depends entirely on the venue, how they interpret "no camera," and the kind of camera you're carrying.

Point-n-shoot cameras == Sometimes finicky, sometimes not
"Professional" looking gear == Probably turned away if you don't have photo credentials


you'll probably be able to bring in a point n shoot camera, just try to hide it well enough. House of Blues can be strict with things but judging by the number of photos of the Pogues on Flickr, you should be fine.

If you get photo credentials: in NY we were asked to either leave after the 3rd song or check our camera bags. I notice that rule applies a lot over in Europe but not so much in NY. Depends on the bands I guess ha. I wasn't going to see 3 songs of the Pogues so I checked my camera obviously. :)

When the venue, in this case House of Blues in Boston, stipulates no cameras, what happens if you have one? I've been told you are turned away. :-(

Plus, does anyone know whether there is parking at the Boston HOB?
