I see "RSS" all over the place but haven't a clue what it means and don't think I've ever availed myself of it. If e-mail notification is do-able, please put me on the list.

Yeah, that's a fabulous idea. I generally go straight to the fora and often miss the announcements on the front page of the site, so every one of the last three tours has snuck up on me.

What? "Snuck" isn't a word? Damned smarty-pants spellcheck. The HELL you say!

OK, the tours snacked up on me.

A couple of thoughts-DZM is there some way to set up a notification email for say, the Boston people (and others)?
I know I get the emails for "interest in a topic" sent to me, is there a way to use that to notify about tickets on sale?

PreSale tickets-In 2006, I did the pre-sale and the tickets sucked. It didn't matter in 2007 because I went to the Avalon show, but 2008 I just bought tickets when they went on normal sale, they were great. Could there be a little more preference for the regulars?

Venue-Do any of the Boston people here know the status of the Avalon replacement? It was great to see them close up
at the Avalon in 2007. I don't mind the Orpheum with good seats.

That would be nice. I think my email program can read them, although I have never used an RSS feed before.

Perhaps that should be "and/or".

Ha ha.

Yes it is.

I remember tickets going on sale on this site in early December and missing it by a few days. I ended up way in the back, and I can't see that well.

This time I am ready. I set this site as my home page so there is no way I'll miss the announcement. I'd really like to get up close this time.

About that time of year when thoughts turn to...

Post by theCOOP Thu Sep 18, 2008 12:29 pm

It's about that time of year now I think that thoughts turn to The Pogues Live in...Boston? And checking www.pogues.com on a daily basis to see if anything has yet been announced.

It's not too early is it? I think the 2006 shows were announced this time of year? Though perhaps the last two years we were only given a couple months notice?

So Phil, if you see this...is there any talk of a US tour yet for 2009? Perhaps a stop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada (or Moncton, New Brunswick, or some place close) this go around??!!

Meh, if I have to go to Boston again, I guess that'd be fine. Might consider NYC instead this year, though I do love my yearly trips to Boston.

Anyway, keeping an eye out now for announements.

This site is generally the Right Place to get announcements about dates and/or pre-sales of tickets.

Does anyone know if The Pogues will be playing in NYC during the St Patrick's celebrations?

Or where I can find out?

best, marti
