Hey man, don't be a jerk. The last shows on the west coast were in fall 2007, which is closing in on two years ago. Given the east coast gets a tour every year, skipping us poor California-ites two years in a row would be pretty disappointing.

I don't quite know how to break it to you, so here goes:

You missed some local shows in 2007 and some more in 2006.

Better luck next time (presuming there is one).

I had tickets for the Anaheim and the LA concerts last October (2007), but couldn't go. I always said I would crawl to a Pogues concert if I had to, but chemotherapy got the better of me. I was so disappointed, I wanted to go so badly I would have crawled if I had the strength! Not trying to play the sympathy card...but I really hope the Pogues are back on the West Coast soon. Any new news about West Coast appearances?

Again, excuse the newbieness in me...I am just a huge Pogues fan. Saw them at the Wiltern in 2006. It was amazing. If I could see them one more time, it would make all this cancer treatment worth it!

Chemo kept me away too, so I sympathise with you and hope you're on the mend soon. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we're heading West this Fall, as we're trying to cover some of the other places we've not been to in a while. But I'm sure we'll back some time in the foreseeable future, health, as always, permitting.

Awwwww. Well even more the reason for us all to go to Dublin at Christmas then. Thanks for letting us know Philip!

Since this was said before Japan/Australia fell through, is there a possibility that the West might be back in the cards?
(someone had to ask :) )

Me either. :D This past year was better weatherwise but alas I had to attend with the flu. I woke up the morning we were leaving with the flu and couldn't forfeit. Shows were great and it wasn't anything that a few pints couldn't cure. We sat in the balcony the first night and were down on the floor the second night. Hopefully we'll be seeing them again in Spring!

I'm saving up the airmiles in anticipation! Where to next? The wife has requested that The Pogues play "someplace warm for a change". I think she still hasn't warmed up from Chicago in March 2007...and London is damp in December, too, as I recall. Nothing that a few rounds in a warm pub with good friends can't fix, though.

see you on the road!

OH...THE HUMANITY! In spite of how much I hate you people, I'm glad you got to see the show. The more happy people there are the better I like the world. I'm a newcomer to this wonderful band, and I hope sometime I will see them. Meanwhile, I'm catching up on the albums so I'll be ready for them live.
I thought of a Pogues Clan Motto: Righteous-Raucous-Ruckus.

Also, the October 31st performance of Sunny Side of the Street is the best I've ever heard, trumping even the Joe Strummer performances to which I was previously rather partial. Shane was fucking on fire. (And they did Worms and, yeah, that was awesome.)

For the last two years they have played multiple nights at the Fillmore in SF. That's right across the bay from you.

And ... Umm ... They rocked. And stuff.
