Record production moved in a direction I did not feel equipped or inclined to follow. Plus I haven't really come across an artist in recent years that I felt I could enhance.

I think.

Hmm. I wasn't aware of this item. It sounds to me like they may possibly be rough mixes or unfinished mixes. Of the tracks you name, I think I produced only Ironmasters and Scarlet Ribbons.

Thanks for the reply Phillip.
The Scarlet Ribbons track on the tape is very different from the lp version, the keyboards especially.Hush Little Baby is only 55 seconds long [maybe cut short in conversion to mp3?] Would the copy write date of 1984 put it well before the Phillip Chevron produced tracks.Never heard of Aurora Music . Had always thought TMTCH where on IMP in the early days.

Yes, it's certainly possible that it's a demo of some kind. Somewhere in one of the more distant filing cabinets of my mind, the name Aurora Music links with that of Tony Poole, who was TMTCH's manager and produced some of the tracks on the first album - basically, the ones I didn't.

What's this?

I think the song was called Under Creeping Trees. It was one of 3 songs on the band's first 12" EP. They supported us on some dates and were managed by Terry O'Neill who was our Irish press officer. Great band. We recorded it in Dublin. 1988 or 89 I guess.

Can anyone give us any more info about the 12" ep , Cat numbers /record label /realease date /year/track listing.
Thanks in advance for any info. This is one ep I would love to own or even just here but it has sdadly evaded us up until now.

Gosh, I haven't heard that in years! Touch heavy on the reverb buttons, perhaps?

"She Moves" is an outtake from the band's one and only Procession album in 1981. I produced about half the album, Midge Ure did one track and John Leckie produced the remainder, although one of the above links erroneously credits Leckie with the whole album. They were an interesting band who never quite delivered on their promise. What I liked about their songs was the sense that at any second, the whole thing might ignominiously collapse, though it never did. But that also made them a tough act to capture on record.

A local debate raged for some time about "Treasure On The Waste Land" and U2's "Eleven O'Clock Tick Tock" as to which came first. [For the record, the Atrix song did].
