As far as I know it was Terry who invented the concept of music.

Are you saying that Terry Woods is in fact an ancient being? Come to think of it, even Neanderthals had a concept of music ;)

This got me to thinking about band family trees

the website: http://www.liveplasma.com/ might be of interest. It is a little different than that as it lets you type in an artist's name and gives you a map of sorts showing other bands that might interest you. It also attempts to show relative popularity by the size of the "halo" around each artist; plus it color codes different artists based on how similar they are to each other.

It is far from complete and not necessarily accurate but interesting. I believe the source data is from amazon.com sales.

The Pogues Family Tree

And the smoke is.....................WHITE...................habemus bassisto!!!!!!!!!

THE RADIATORS are pleased to announce the recruitment of JESSE BOOTH as their new bass player. Jesse is the son of Tim Booth from the idiosyncratic Irish 60s band Dr Strangely Strange, one of the numerous stops on Terry Woods's musical journey. It remains a small world.

This got me to thinking about band family trees
The Old Grey Whistle Test or another BBC a long time in the past used to trace band members movements fron one band to another and make a group family tree. I think there was even a few books in the same vien published.I can remeber a punk one starting with London SS members

Most members of the Pogues have been in post/pre Pogues bands
Shane - Nips
Philip- Radiators, Pelers
Cait- Pride of The Cross
Terry- Woods Band ,a whole list of others

Does any know if a pogues family tree has been attempted.
I would be very interested in the twist and turns, comings & going.
even to just get the names a fill in or temp. replacement postion members of the band like Joe Strummer (RIP),Steve Earle , Kirsty (RIP) , Danny Pope, Joey And Costello.

Most likey would also mean I would end up trying to got some new cds/records of these bands, Royalties anyone.

Maybe some one could make a start here by just list bands etc
