A friend of my niece formally testified against gay conversion therapy at the United Nations this week.
She's not someone I know personally, just one of the millions of six degrees of separation people in everybody's world...

Made me think of Philip, and how cool he would have found this young lady. 8)

I love that Pete Holidai got in there with a lefty. Nice to think they'll still be playing together through their guitars.

On Tuesday 14 October Philip's guitars are being formally handed over to Mountjoy Prison here in Dublin to comply with his wish to donate them to Billy Bragg's 'JAIL GUITAR DOORS' scheme which aims to rehabilitate prisoners through music. There will be a ceremony attended by musicians, family and dignitaries. The President of Ireland has sent a wonderful letter commending Philip for his generosity and lifelong interest in human liberty.

On 23 November there will be a tribute concert in the Sugar Club Dublin. Some of the people who appeared at the testimonial will be there, but it will be on a smaller scale. The proceeds will be donated to St Francis Hospice which looked after Phil in his final weeks.

Time flies... I can't believe it's been a year since Philip left us. The forum isn't the same place without him.

Here's a song I wrote & recorded with Philip from 2011. There's a free download option, so fill your boots. His voice is beautiful in the choruses and the rythmn guitar playing is classic Chevron.

Eamon Carr reading a poem fo Philip:

"In Autumn 2013, Philip Chevron, punk pioneer, songwriter, and true gentleman of the Arts died after a long illness, and is much missed. Earlier last year, Eamon Carr wrote a poem for Philip entitled "Paolo Veronese Considers Blue" - a rich tale of the 1573 painting, "Feast in the House of Levi" by the Venetian artist Veronese. Eamon read the poem in Phil's memory at a Cáca Milis Cabaret last November, with accompaniment by clarinetist Ciarán Wilde. Today, the anniversary of Philip's death, we post it to remember Phil."

This is such a good photo. Like I've said elsewhere, you can really tell it's him.
