Oi went to SOKOJ with me bass player to check about copyroights... we can register songs(but only lyrics and music, not just lyrics)... oi'll check more, cause oid loike to protect lyrics for itself.

oi was wondering where is the best(cheapest as well) on-loine place to protect songs(getting copyright and stuff)...since oi started working with band oi wrote several songs(tis not much but oi think quality matters).
Thanks very much for answer :D

It does vary from country to country. In the UK, for example, I'm registered with MCPS/PRS even for songs which have not been published yet (ie listed as Copyright Control) and they collect from all the other world agencies on my behalf. This was a shrewd move in the case of, for example, The Radiators' "Hinterland" which we played at Croke Park when we opened for U2 last year. Croke Park was a massive IMRO (the Irish collection agency) payout, and I could have been hundreds of pounds out of pocket if I had not registered the song.

Registration should not be an expensive business, but it's 30 years since I started doing this so I'm a bit rusty. I say follow Fintan's excellent leads.

I hope these links are of some help:
Anti-Piracy Association
Intellectual Property Office

Both sites are in Serbian. Enjoy and good luck. :)

Oi Oirish Rover, most of the time this an organisation in your country. Mind you: it might be expensive
