Christy speaks very highly of Shane in his book, he names him as his favourite songwriter if I remember correctly. I'll have look later when I get home.

The CD & DVD are magic. You can't beat Christy live.

Absolutely right! Looked like they had a whalefish of a good time.

:D I saw the two of them together on my DVD and thought that they strike me as two fellas approaching the same pub from different ends of the street, so to speak and with all respect to Christys' sobriety. The following statement is intended as a rough idea of what I'm thinking as words are so slippery and potentially treacherous.
Shane is a frustrated folk singer and Christy is a frustrated rock star.

Now, by frustrated I DO NOT mean unhappy or dissatisfied with their respective careers/lifestyles etc. I just meant that, to me, they are a pair of massively taleneted artists renowned in the two, often antithetical, genres of folk and rock; each with very strong leanings toward and talents in the other genre. A very complementary pairing of artists to my mind and ears.
If I was pushed, by mind-probing aliens or Mormons, to define my mental image of either of these two, I would have to say that I see Shane at the Rock end of the Street looking Folkwards, and Christy up Folkway end, but looking down the road to the loud noises and bright lights of RockTown. Or something.

Maith agat, Mr. C. That'll go great with the 'Unplugged' DVD I got. Great singer, great songs, what a combination.
