New Album Update
Here’s what I’m doing – I’m selling my next album NOW before I release it in an attempt to finance its production. This process has been ongoing since the beginning of the year.
As of today – April 10th – recording is 99% finished. I have one vocal and one harmony left to sing. I fly to London in the morning. Mixing starts on the 12th at Mick Glossop’s new studio.
The budget, which fluctuates from week to week, but should be fairly predictable now, is $60,000. So far, the presales have raised $30,000. These Cds will cost $11,000 to manufacture and ship. Tapete records will provide an advance. But we still need to sell the remaining 200 of the limited edition to balance the budget. These limited editions will not be available forever, even if we don’t sell all of them, because we need to manufacture them and ship them to our shop well ahead of the release date. I estimate that it will take our family and our new intern two weeks to ship all of them!................." Lloyd Cole Myspace blog
