I named my twins Misty Morning and Albert Bridge.

Well, no. No, I didn't. I don't even have twins. I do have a girl and a boy, but through some horrible oversight that I still don't understand, I never heard of the Pogues until well after they were born. They're both big fans now, but unwilling to change their names. Actually, one is willing, but it would be kind of pointless then, wouldn't it?

Anyway, congratulation Simon, although you might be too sleep deprived by now to be reading this. :-)

I was once explaining to a friend, the motivation, no rationalization, behind naming my daughter. In the end she asked me, "so you named your daughter after food?" Its kind of complicated, and involves a lot of South Asian stuff, but her simple summary has always made me laugh. And I wish my parents put half the thought into naming me that I put into my daughter's name. Eric. ERIC. There are a million Erics. And in the end, it was just so the initials could be the same as someone else in the family. And we are not Scandinavian. So anyway...... I hope you take the time to explain that your kid was named after a guy who took the time to keep that connection that is so important to any real punk-rooted band, with their audience (notice I did not use the term "fans" -- because the proper term is "peers"). :)

Nice one.

Did you consider calling him Spider at all? Were you overruled on that one? :D
