DM Bob is the man

Post by Jim P. Mon Oct 10, 2005 1:37 am

I've been listening to DM Bob's stuff, still waiting on the Jem / DM collaboration, it's great, all of it. I always loved the distorted vocals on his albums.

It took a long time to get his CDs but their worth the wait. He lived in Lousiana on and off and it inspired him to make some great music.

Thank God for DM Bob!

ok, first of all last night's concert was great! I thought they even sound better live than on their record. They played for ca. 90min, the set consisted of pretty much every track from "Bum Steer" and a few new ones.
Jem showed that he's still the king of banjos, but also played guitar, sax and some great slide guitar while DM Bob provided solide drumming (bass drum + a drum that sounded like a hihat) , guitar and harmonicas + some crazy sax on Pachinco (the only Pogues song last night  ). They were really enjoying playing together, they are not too serious about their music and had a good laugh if they messed up a song (only happened one or two times) or crackin jokes in between.
After the show, Mr DM Bob held an auction for his paintings with Jem assisting. I was lucky to get a painting called "Silberblick Jesus".
Once again, if you got the chance to see them - go for it!! They also tour the UK in October.

Here are some pics I took last night.
