"Her 'comeback' with The Pogues only lasted one tour"

What tour was that? Around about 2004 was it? I'd be interested in tracking down some live recording (if any exist) of these gigs but I'll pursue that elsewhere.

There was a nice picture of Cait with Spider and Jem from the sound check at Shane's 60th gig.

Like all the rest of 'em I wish her nothing but the best in her endeavours.

Absolutely! It would be unfair to single out the behaviour of one band member without mentioning the rest of them.I have witnessed far worse from other bands,it happens,it's always been like that.Is there one person alive who has never fallen out with a work colleague or plotted against them?Re.Cait the musician, she was part of a band called Prenup who put out an album in 2007,''Hell to Pay'',some interesting lyrics in the songs.Fiachna O'Braonain[Hothouse Flowers] and Dave Clarke complete the line up.Frank Murray was involved in putting Prenup together,he also co produced the Mighty Stef album that Cait guests on,Frank was also their manager. After not talking to each other for nearly twenty years,Frank and Cait reconciled their differences.Cait was supposed to be joining The Mahones not too long ago,i don't know what happened with that.I do like Cait's vocals on T.Bone Burnett's 'The Talking Animals ' LP,yes,i have it on good old vinyl!

I remember Carole Clerk's book, on the ending of Cait's association with the Pogues reunions and The Radiators, quoted Philip saying something like "Cait will ruin every opportunity she's given..." which wasn't a great personality review. I understand, though, that she has since become sober, etc etc so maybe she's less difficult to get along with.

But i suppose my point above was that i don't really care what she's like. I've not got to be her roommate, friend, in a band or a family with her, i'd just like her to be making music!

It is fair to say that Cait is in a much better place theses days. Her 'comeback' with The Pogues only lasted one tour, there were problems with Cait and several band members, which would suggest old wounds had not healed.I was present at a couple of soundchecks and also backstage and there was a fair bit of tension.

What, she spit on you or something?

I for, one, have enjoyed her occasional vocal appearances (Safe at Home w/ Might Stef, Doors of Hope w/ Blood or Whiskey, Kitty Rickets w/ Radiators), and wish she was doing more. But then, i feel that way about most of the band.

Maybe she’ll form a supergroup and make you cry.

Supergroup, supergroup!
