Cait O'Riordan's group The Radiators have occasional fan gatherings ; the latest was in a pub here in Dublin this afternoon.
I had reckoned she wouldn't be there 'cos she wasn't at the last one and The Pogues were doing a show in London last night. I was wrong 'cos there she was , as me and a few other fans arrived to find her
and Pete and Johnny of the Rads.
After greetings and handshakes all round , we got chatting. I told her I was surprisd to see her , considering the Pogues show. She joked about how they couldn't afford her this time and , anyway ,
would you go to London when you could be in sunny Dublin etc.
I then got talking with people on my side of the table, occasionally kind of talking to her as a topic got comnents from her side of the table. I gave Pete a bootleg of the Rads recent support slot with U2 here
in Dublin. He was delighted to get it , excitedly telling Cait about it , to her joy also etc.
I had hoped to chat more directly with Cait , but , alas , she seemed to have other plans because all of a sudden she was leaving , with a general wave to us all.
Chat with the others went on for another hour or so , with loads of backstage info. on the U2 gig etc.
