I did three blinding tracks with the Filthy Thieving Bastards recently. I sang on two of 'em and whistled on all three. I think two are being used on their next album and one on the one after that. One of my favourite nights this year was in Alex's Bar with them and James Fearnley and a couple of hundred Long Beach Punks. If you get the chance go and see them , they're great. as are all their other bands Swingin' Utters, Me First and the Gimme Gimme's and Camper van Beethoven. Johnny is a brilliant front man as any of you who have seen them or the Utters will know. He also designed a fantastic T Shirt which I think I might wear on the next Pogues tour...

The Filthy Thieving Bastards will be playing a handful of shows in California in March and April, which is a rare event in its own right… but this time they will be joined onstage with Spider Stacy from the Pogues. They will be playing a classic set of Pogues songs, and some FTB originals as well… Spider will also be joining them in the studio to record several songs for their next full-length, due sometime next fall on BYO Records.
