the "folks like you, judmental arsholes" bit. the bit i quoted in the previous post. the plural of it all. i may have chalked it up to the fact that something can get lost in typing, but you also just told me i confirmed your suspicions of being judgemental. that's more than obvious. that's explicit.

and of course i'm judgemental. everyone is. to what extent is the underlying issue here. where as i was judging how you went about confronting barney and i, you seem to have gone straight for our (and more recently his) proverbial throats.

that is incorrect, I said folks (talking about others in general...) like you (not plural) arseholes (relating to (other) folks like you). If I was speaking with someone and said people who are selfish like you is that plural, no. It is talking about one person and saying others like that person. Barney made the baseless comment and the response was to barney

Given the fact that you can't smoke in pubs, are frequented by kids who's parents object to you swearing in front of them while they're playing in the ball pit (FFS!) and beer's cheaper at home, it'd be a hard task to get barred from any of the local pubs down my way.

i think that's great that you were in there before "proper" age! my friends and i used to have to drive into mexico (when it was still safe) to get the beers we weren't allowed in the states.

yeah it's getting rare that you can smoke in a bar. fortunately the bars in arlington still allow it. no kids, either. i can't say i've ever seen one in a bar. if i could imagine what that'd be like..... http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/ ... r/1085182/ :D

I've only been barred from 2 pubs, both local to where I grew up and both had a problem keeping Landlords once the 2 old timers who ran the respective pubs died. You'd get barred from one and move to the other and then back again.

how great it would've been if you'd taken your own advice and showed a bit of "intellectual curiosity" (or at least been the presumed "bigger man" and had extended us the benefit of the doubt) and not judged us back so quickly in return. .

When someone out of the box says "whereas billy here...is probably an aggressive arsehole" extending the benefit of the doubt comes off the option list. My comment was to the gent who made that statement (barney) and I think that should be obvious - so where in all this did you (in your mind) turn it into "...barney and i... "? You in fact confirm my suspicion that you are judgmental with your statement "you've been straightforward, just not in the right way" or is that just an intellectually curious observation.

The line was a part tounge and cheek but also I, as well, have never actually been asked not to return. Actually, what I meant is that after a point a good number of bars reveal themselves to be shallow and pointless if you consider going to them regularly and barred in the sense that the judgemetal and shallow patrons of so many of them do not want to acknowledge anything differnet. - I perfer actually to have a few solo runs but just as happy at home with wife and kids.

I was at one bar for instance where at the end of the evening I was pulling out in my car and some arsehole (perhaps like your self) gives me the finger. To his surprise I turn around and get out of the car to inquire what his problem was. He says I have been staring at his wife. The women he referred to I was making eye contcact with only because she was attactive and making eye contact with me. The thing is the two never did anything in the bar to indicate they were married and so this guy, this arsehole is in this passive / aggressive mode all evening and can only express himself with a finger at a distance. If he were to have some balls (or intellectual curiosity) he may have come to me in the bar and said hey that is my wife there and I may have (would have) said hey sorry pal had no way of knowing, your a lucky guy, can I buy you a drink. Instead he does this passive / aggressive thing sitting there all night getting pissed instead of dealing with the situation in a straight forward manner. So barred in that sense that I perfer not to deal with folks like you, judgemental arseholes, perhaps, I could be wrong, but doubt it.

yeah i'm a pretty good drinking companion. a little silly and goofy but almost always all in good fun. rarely aggressive unless i start out aggressive before the drinking starts. which is also rare.

as far as the guy wanting to know where shane lives, i couldn't tell you what the deal is with that! i mean it would be cool to meet the guy (shane i mean) but i wouldn't go as far as to hunt him down. mr. chevron on the other hand...
